Intermedia Outdoors’ family of Game and Fish magazines recognized OutfitterPros.com in their July/August 2010 issues in an article entitled “Avoid Outfitter Regrets”.  These 30 state/regional magazines are read by hundreds of thousands of avid outdoorsmen, and has increased traffic to our site significantly.  The article provided several good tips to help a hunter pick a reputable outfitter.

we offer 5 1/2 day free ranging whitetail hunts in the northern provincial forestland. Everyday you are transported by ATV right to your heated ground blind or tower and are picked up right after dark and taken back to camp. Because you are hunting miles of forest the deer movement is all day
and the best bucks are normally killed between 10 a.m and 2 p.m. Our hunts include lodging, meals, transportation to and from the airport (Saskatoon), 5 1/2 days of hunting and trophy care.

Bucks in the 125 to 135 range are common, and if you are patient deer in the 140 to 150 are very possible with deer over 180 taken. We have very comfortable modern accommodations with separate sleeping

SPOTLIGHT: KANSAS WHITETAIL DEER HUNTING OUTFITTER

Kansas Hunting - We are located in SE Kansas along the Neosho River. All of our hunting ground is privately owned property that holds some big trophy bucks. With over 3000 acres in Labette, Cherokee, and Crawford counties we can keep you in an area that has not been pressured.

The habitat of the farms we hunt is very diverse. We have bottomland fields with thick draws and woodlots, hardwood White Oak Ridges, and thick overgrown brushy pastures.  All of this area has the highest deer population in the entire state. Kansas has more 160 P&Y bucks in the books than any other state.  Our whitetail deer have the best genetics and all the food they need. We supplement with feeders and summer and winter food plots.

Whitetail Deer Hunting - Our Rifle and Muzzleloader hunts are 5 days, and Archery hunts are 6 days long. You will arrive the afternoon before and leave out the morning after. We provide all meals, lodging, transportation to and from the hunting areas, and almost everything needed.  Every time you go afield you have a chance to kill that buck of a lifetime. We are not in the business of selling deer, we are providing you an opportunity to hunt some of the best Kansas farms.

This is real hunting, you might hunt 5 days and not see a shooter or you might have 6 shooters chase a doe under your tree at 5 yds in the first 10 min. We believe a shooter is classified as the deer you decide to shoot. As long as it is at least a 3 1/2 yr old deer. We have killed 3 1/2 yr old 175 inch and 4 1/2 yr old 198 inch bucks. As long as you are not shooting 2 1/2 yr old bucks or younger you will be able to keep hunting with us. We also do not charge trophy fees.

Kansas Turkey Hunting - We have a load of Eastern, Rio Grande and Hybrid turkeys for you to hunt. Turkey hunting along the river, a small creek, or chasing them in the strip pits we will keep you busy.

When you come hunting with us you can be assured we will do everything we can to make your hunt a success. You will stay with us in our house and eat at our kitchen table. We are just a small family outfitter that makes for a relaxing trip. While hunting with Iron Gate Lodge you are just one of the family.
