Does it cost anything to use the site?
No, the site is free for serious hunters to match up with reputable outfitters.
Does the site help me set my budget for a hunt?
Yes. Once you select a Species and a Location (and in some cases a Weapon), the site will show you how many hunts match your criteria. The site also displays the following data for the matching hunts: Minimum Cost, Maximum Cost, and Average Cost. Then, once you enter a Budget, the site will display how many hunts are in your price range. You can adjust your budget as many times as you wish to achieve the best balance of hunt cost vs. number of matches before proceeding to the next step.
As with everything else in life, you get what you pay for. If you’re wanting a true Trophy hunt, you will want to set your budget closer to the Maximum Cost.
What happens when I decide to book with an outfitter?
You will contract directly with the outfitter for the hunt you decide upon. Most will require a deposit (50% is typical) to hold your spot. Be sure to inquire about the outfitter’s deposit refund policy – that information should be in the hunt contract and/or on the outfitter’s website.
I want to hunt a particular sub-species, but don’t see them in the menu. How do I provide this data to the outfitters?
Use the Comment box on Step 3 of the Find A Hunt form to specify a particular sub-species (examples: Turkey – Eastern, Rio, Merriam, Osceola; Moose – Alaska-Yukon, Shiras, Canadian). You are encouraged to enter everything of importance to you relative to your hunt request in the Comment box.
